The Lake Memorial Weekend

The Townsend family decided to take advantage of the long weekend and head up north to enjoy some sun, drinks and good friends. As you can see Carson is a big fan. Kandern was never happier and Mommy & Daddy, well they were happy not to be home doing chores. Here are some photos to enjoy.

Hidden illness

As if I don't wake up early enough every morning... but now I wake up, every morning before sunrise to run. This is a new joy for me, and I truly love how I feel afterwards. The biggest challenge for me hasn't been the running but the breathing. For those of you who don't know I have asthma. I have had it since I was a baby. I haven't had any issues with it for a long time–mainly because I wasn't doing many physical things. Now that I am exercising more it's resurfacing. In High School, I had some difficulties with it when I was in sports.

I couldn't help but think while I was running this morning, how asthma is going to affect Carson as he gets older. Unfortunately, Carson too has asthma, no thanks to me. Is he going to have limitations on what sports he can play because of his breathing? Is he going to be able to play soccer, football or baseball? For his sake—I hope he "grows-out-of-it" as they say. Chances are he'll have forever like his mom and grandma...

Great Weekend

Once again, the Townsends had a fun-yet busy weekend.

We went to our friends house on Friday night and had some waxing done by the great esthetician ever :) Only I had the waxing :0

Saturday was chore day followed by a movie–the curious case of
Benjamin button.

Sunday, Carson and Mommy went to the zoo (mommy's fav) we saw
lots of animals out-and-about since it was cooler. Then Ryan and I
worked on getting our garden started.

All in all it was a great weekend.
Back to the grind stone today :(

Are you ready for your close up?

For those of you who get my snapfish photos, you  may have noticed a decline in receiving those. It seems whenever I get the camera out— someone wants it. So my photos have been a lot like this where their really close up or he is grabbing for the camera. When he is older and asks why isn't there many photos of me at age one, I can say look at this...

when I grow up

When I grow up, I want to be just like my dad. I see him with his headphones all the time and I think he is the coolest.

binkie update

Things are going well! He only uses his binkie when he goes to sleep. He doesn't get upset when I take it away and he no longer looks for it.

Also, Ryan and I have been very good at ignoring him when he has a tantrum and now they seem to be less frequent. This makes me happy.

Mother's Day

Mommy had a great 2nd Mother's day.

I did all the chores Saturday so I could relax on Sunday. Ryan and I played with Carson in the morning then we ALL took an afternoon nap. Carson and I went on a walk in the afternoon. Ryan and I finished the day with some Olive Garden (to go) while watching our favorite shows...it was a good day.

The next day...

Words from Carson:
It's bad enough you people came to my house and continued to drink into the morning hours but now I have to clean up after you!

Just kidding...he slept through everything and the beer cans you see are NOT opened.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Fitz! Saturday night celebration was a blast. First we went to The Greenhouse Tavern...yummy, then we went to the Corner Alley for a round of bowling. But of course when you start drinking there's no stopping, so the party continued at Team Townsends where the poker chips were brought out. Mommy went to bed early (midnight) while everyone continued to party.
Thanks again we have a blast!

Lucky he is cute!

Carson sure is lucky he is cute! This past week Carson has been having temper tantrums  and full out melt downs. Over what? NOTHING. That’s the problem. I understand it’s his age and personality and taking his binky away doesn’t help but it’s very unsettling.

From what Ryan and I know and what I can research, we are to ignore him when he is having his “fits”. So far the last couple of days the ignoring him seems to be working. The tantrum last shorter. To give you an example of a tantrum: We are playing outside—he finds a stick and walnut shell— it is time to go inside—I take away stick and shell—MELTDOWN—for 20 minutes!

I keep my calm because I know if I get stressed it’s only going to make him worse. I been learning to control my patience better. In a way it’s a good learning experience for me.

I still love him to no end.
